Why Insulate Your House?

Air conditioning and heating account for 50 to 70% of the energy used in the average American home. Inadequate insulation and air leakage are leading causes of energy waste in most homes. Below you will find a summary of benefits and reasons why to properly insulate your home.

How Insulation Works

Heat flows naturally from a warmer to a cooler space. In winter, the heat moves directly from all heated living spaces to the outdoors and to adjacent unheated attics, garages, and basements - wherever there is a difference in temperature. During the summer, heat moves from outdoors to the house interior. To maintain comfort, the heat lost in winter must be replaced by your heating system and the heat gained in summer must be removed by your air conditioner. Insulating ceilings, walls and floors decreases the heating or cooling needed by providing an effective resistance to the flow of heat.

  • Excellent sound control.
  • Will not Rot, Decay, Corrode, or Settle, and contains no asbestos.
  • Certified for superior indoor air quality & Regularly tested by Green Guard Environmental institute for low emissions & potential indoor air pollutants.
  • Research spans more than 50 years & in last few years tens of millions of dollars have been spent on both animal and human studies to the effect that insulsafe shows no casual relationship between exposure to Insulsafe & Cancer or Respiratory disease.
  • Insulsafe is made from sand & recycled glass cutlet that is melted & spun from molten glass into fibers - with no formaldehyde. It is most effective because it has millions of tiny air pockets to help resist flow of heat and cold.
  • Meets local & Federal Standards and is regular tested by the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) to verify that the insulation performs as stated.
  • Lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects & is transferrable.
  • Covers Every nook and cranny because of blown-in application.
  • Won't absorb moisture, and is non-combustible.
  • Certainteed is a member of USGBC - (U.S. Green Building Council) so insulsafe is a "Green" insulation, reducing dependence on foreign oil and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
  • U.S. Department of energy requirements by zone show that Texas should have an R-30 value in the consumers homes with consideration that the higher R-Value installed the better Thermal Resistance you have. We therefore recommend to the consumers that R-49 be the achieved Value if possible.
What Is An R-Value?

Insulation is rated in terms of thermal resistance, called R-value, which indicates the resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness. The R-value of thermal insulation depends on the type of material, its thickness, and its density. In calculating the R-value of a multi-layered installation, the R-values of the individual layers are added.

Proper insulation makes all the difference when it comes to the comfort level in your home. Without it, you are vulnerable to all sorts of unpleasant experiences such as hot and cold spots or drafts. No matter how good your home cooling and heating system is, it can't keep your home comfortable if the heated and cooled air it provides is not kept inside.
